I always saw yoga instructors coming into class with bags filled with stuff, journals, stereos, or the complete opposite and nothing but themselves. I am one of the complete opposites. I never even carried a back pack while in school because I didn’t want to lug a bunch of stuff around all day! But after this first year of teaching I have learned some things.
Now this is all just kind of the tip of the iceberg really. As my teaching evolves so do the tools I need. So yes I carry all that with me in a little back pack or a reusable tote. But I usually bring my journal with lesson plans as well just in case I need something. I’ve seen other instructors bring candles and essential oils and singing bowls and chimes and incense... and so many other things. I don’t need them for my classes, but maybe you do... so feel welcome to pack your tools for your class. I personally try to keep it as minimal as possible, but obviously bring what you need to feel comfortable! It all kind of seems self explanatory... ha but for my first year I wish someone would have told me these things!!!!

Hello! Juls here! So I wanted to start off by stating that I am not really a writer. I am not an English Major, nor do I have a degree in anything of the literary variety. I also am not a professional doctor, therapist, or expert on anything. I am a yoga instructor, who makes a pretty great cup of coffee! So please don't expect the works of a poet... just the humble rants of a Pittsburgh Yoga Instructor! I promise all posts will be written with nothing but good intentions and no guarantees. I am honest and I try to be the best version of myself. this blog is here so that maybe someone, a teacher or a student or someone looking to start taking yoga, might find something helpful or interesting here! Please feel welcome to write comments, ask questions, and I will get back to you as soon as possible with the best response I am capable of! I hope you find what you are seeking-not just here- in life and in all.
