Hey there! So in my last post about what tools you should bring to your classes I talked about stuff specifically for TEACHING in your class, this post is about what can help if you’re a traveling yoga instructor on the go! I can’t take all of the credit for this though, my best friend last year, for Christmas, made me a yoga teacher bag. It was a small back pack filled with: deodorant, baby wipes, tissues, lotion, travel tooth care, hand sanitizer, perfume, a scarf, (back up) tampons, fabreeze, chapstick, and other little odds and ends that were LIFE SAVERS!!!! I added only a few other items to this list but I replenish them often since I’m always on may to one studio then the next. I throw an extra yoga outfit(include underwear—even if you don’t think you’ll need it), snacks, emergency water bottle, and a tiny first aid kit. So basically think a gym bag with a few little extras! I try to think of what I’ll need during the day and pack ahead of time. If I’m teaching 5-6 classes all over the place I’ll set out a breakfast, lunch, tea, and snacks the night before, along with an extra set of clothes. I try to keep my planner with this bunch as well just to keep myself on task. As well as my yoga class journal so even if I have a class planned, if something comes up, I have others to fall back on and not stress. I used to not like planning classes and just liked teaching off the cuff but it is stressful when you teach so many. Last little bit. You know yourself better than anyone. If you know you’re going to need extras of whatever during the day— grab them and throw them in your back pack, and if you know you’re going to need stuff throughout your day pick it out the night before! Don’t stress yourself out trying to rush in the morning. And don’t forget snacks-you don’t want to be hangry!
