Hey Lovelies! Let me share a bit more about myself with you...
TRAINING: 200 hour Power Vinyasa teacher training, South Hills Power Yoga, Dormont PA 2016
Restorative Yoga Intensive Weekend Training
Registered with Yoga Alliance
WHY YOGA: I started practicing yoga when I was 14. I went to my first class in the summer between middle school and high school. The first class I went to was hot, I forgot a towel, and I fumbled like a sweaty idiot with my five below mat. I slipped ALOT. I sweat ALOT. And they used ALOT of words I didn't now and had to look around to everyone else in the room to see what was going on.
And I LOVED it!
My practice ebbed and flowed with my life growing up, meaning some years I practiced more than others. Eventually after my first year of college I didn't know what I wanted to do, so I became a barista at Starbucks-- and that wasn't great--so I looked at myself really hard and asked myself "what I love to do?"... And I have always loved yoga--even when I thought I was really bad at it. I have always had yoga to come back to, it has been the one constant I could rely on and as my life goes through its highs and lows. It seemed the only answer I had was to go back to practicing. Which lead me to my training, which has lead me to this amazing ride of teaching! I love learning with my students and watching our practices grow into these beautiful pieces of moving art. I also fell in love with yoga when I realized there was never a finish line... there was no end product. That became my freedom which became the practice I wanted to cultivate and share every day of my life.
OFF THE MAT: During the day you can catch me in my hammock reading the latest Young Adult Fiction, on my stand up paddle board at North Park Lake, or exploring with my buddies. During the evenings you can find me staying up late Netflix bingeing with my mom and sister or out playing ski ball with my boyfriend. I am obviously a very interesting person in real life.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM MY CLASS: I teach a Power Vinyasa style, but I teach from a place of what feels good and what makes people feel strong and confident. My classes challenge people while deepening their practice on all mental physical and spiritual levels. I love to push beyond some comfort zones and allow the growth to come from a deep place. The music will also always keep us on our toes.
